Kalki and I stop to meet a family living in the middle of the desert. The next closest house is miles away.
The women look after the home and family. They have to walk miles to get water as there is no ground water nearby. The men cultivate desert crops- when there is no rain there is hardly any food to go around.
After talking to them, we set off on foot to explore the terrain. Kalki and I take a moment to see the breathtaking view. The silence in the desert makes us introspect about things that are much bigger than our own lives. After some time, we realised we were lost. We could no longer see the jeeps we had traveled in. But we don’t stop; we have a long way to go.
