Script Readers from London and Mainz join us!

We are delighted to announce two film professionals, Emma Clarke and Sylvie Page, who will join us remotely as Readers.

Emma Clarke

Emma is one of the founder members of the UK Film Council where she worked as a Senior Executive from 2000-2010.  She has personally overseen the development and production of over 60 feature films and documentaries, many of them winning multiple awards including Baftas, The Cannes Jury Prize, the Berlin Silver Bear, Locarno, and multiple Bifas.  In her twenties she spent two years in Los Angeles learning about the film business from the bottom up which proved an invaluable experience when working for New Line Cinema, running their London arthouse division office.  She is now putting this experience to work teaching a successful MA Screenwriting course at the University of Manchester which she has co-designed.

Sylvie Page

Sylvie is a professor since 2002 at the department of Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz. From1994 until 2002, she worked as a professor of film studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, teaching dramaturgy and film production. Born and raised in Canada, she studied Visual Communication at the Concordia University, Montreal (major in film), followed by her Art History Studies at the University of Montreal.  She travels around the world giving workshops and conferences about storytelling in Israel, India, Chile, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Ireland, Thailand, Holland. Her published work includes studies and articles on films in scholarly journals, such as the magazine EPD Medien and Forum.

The Readers will provide script notes on the first drafts completed by our Scriptwriting Participants.
